Private property is the easy case
If the container sits entirely on your own driveway or lot, no town on Long Island requires a permit. That covers the large majority of the residential jobs we deliver.
The only real constraint is access: we need roughly 60 feet of straight clearance and about 23 feet of vertical space to raise the box.
Street placement needs paperwork
Placing a container in the roadway, on a shoulder, or on a village street means applying to the town or village highway department. Fees and lead times vary — some approve in a day, others take a week.
Many villages also require reflective markers or cones around the container overnight.
